Scope Of Services
Cape Fear Center for Digestive Diseases, P.A. provides diagnostic
and therapeutic endoscopic procedures for the patients of the Center
and referring physicians. The AAAHC accredited office-based Endoscopy
Unit focuses on quality patient care, patient comfort and convenience.
Procedures performed are deemed appropriate and approved by the Governing
Body. The center accepts payment from Medicare and Medicaid as well
as private carriers and contracts with managed care organizations. Endoscopic
procedures are scheduled on an elective basis. Two procedure rooms and
two Phase II areas accommodate patients who are undergoing endoscopic
procedures under IV sedation analgesia. Patients appropriate for treatment
are limited to ASA Classification of I, II, or III. The hours of operation
for the Endoscopy Unit are 6:30a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on weekdays when the
clinical practice is in operation. Patients are instructed that urgent
or emergency care is provided at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. The
staff is comprised of gastroenterologists, registered nurses, licensed
practical nurses and support personnel. Patient care activities are
directed by a registered nurse. Staffing may vary according to caseload
to include experienced registered nurses, licensed practical nurses,
and other medical personnel who work under direct supervision of a registered
nurse. Cape Fear Center for Digestive Diseases, P.A. admits ambulatory
adults and adolescents, ages 16-18, who are accompanied by a parent
or guardian with written permission.
